April Theme: Our Sky


This month we will explore things in the sky including the Sun, Moon, and stars. The students will form hypotheses, gather observations, and draw conclusions, make constellations, investigate sundials, experiment with UV light, and discover changes in the Moon.

Week 1 (April 6) | What's in the Sky?

Children will make telescopes and explore what is in the sky during both day and night.

Week 2 (April 13) | Day and Night

Children will use flashlights to explore the difference between day and night.

Week 3 (April 20) | Moon Phases

Children will explore and document Moon changes over a period of 1 week.

Week 4 (April 27) | Sundials

Using a sundial, the children will explore the Sun as a source of light causing shadows and will learn that the Sun travels, causing shadows to change.

Age Group: 3 - 5 years old

Class Time: Saturday and Sunday; 9:30 - 10:30 am, 11:00 - 12:00 pm

Max Size: 10 students
